Beaches & coast
Palm-lined bays in the south, calm shallow water in the east, and a beach season somewhere on the island almost all year.

Sri Lanka has two beach seasons. From about December to April, the south and west coasts — Mirissa, Unawatuna, Bentota — are at their best. From about May to September, it is the turn of the east coast — Trincomalee, Pasikuda and Arugam Bay.
That means we can often find good beach weather, whether you travel during the Swedish winter or summer holidays.
